Southern Overland Outfitters began in 2019 in Matthews, NC as an off-shoot of Performance Rovers, Inc. In January 2023 Chad was approached by the owners with a proposition to acquire SOLO. The deal was sealed a couple months later and SOLO was relocated to Hickory, NC where Chad and his sons already owned an auto shop. After hiring Josh as lead technician, SOLO officially reopened in April 2023. It is our goal to continue the foundation of integrity, excellence, and innovation that the previous owners built from the beginning. We are excited to be the area’s ONLY shop devoted to the overlanding community. We offer quality products from the industry’s leading manufacturers and provide outstanding installation services as well. We take pride in treating each customer as if their vehicles are our own. Although we enjoy outfitting your vehicle with the latest gear and gadgets, it is more important to us that you just GET OUT…and pursue the adventure of exploring God’s beautiful creation.
